Potala Palace (2yo b c Singspiel - Alignment) won the Group 1 Premiers Champion Stakes over 1600m at Greyville, South Africa on 31st July. According to SAHorseracing.com he "proved there is genuine substance to his big reputation as he produced a brilliant front-running performance to win". He was bred by Highlands Farms Stud (pty) Ltd in South Africa.

 

His dam Alignment (Alzao - Scots Lass) was sold by Ballymacoll at Goffs in 2005. While Scots Lass is no longer with us, two of Alignment's half sisters are on the roster; Mary Stuart (by Nashwan) and Highland Gift (by Generous), dam of Golan and Tartan Bearer. In addition two of Highland Gift's offspring are resident broodmares; black type performers Gift Range (by Spectrum) and Leocorno (by Pivotal).
