The last 24 hours have been busy for Ballymacoll. Dumbarton got things underway by winning the sportingbet.com Maiden Stakes over 1m last night at Windsor. Ridden by Ryan Moore, and on only his second career start, he quicken readily to win by 4½ lengths.

 

First up today, Modun was beaten by a neck in the bet365.com Handicap at Goodwood over 1m2f. Coming with a late run under Ryan Moore, he just failed to catch the winner.

 

Ten minutes later at Beverley, William Buick steered Croquembouche to win the E.B.F. Holderness Pony Club Maiden Stakes by a half a length. This was Croquembouche's second racecourse appearance and Ballymacoll's first two year old winner of the year.

 

Finally for the day, Fiorente was placed second in the bet365 Gordon Stakes (Gr 3) back at Goodwood. Once more the losing margin was only a neck.
