Ballymacoll had it's first winner of the 2009 season on Saturday when TARTAN BEARER (Spectrum ex Highland Gift) made a winning return to the race track in the Bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes (Gr 3). He had been given 300 days to recover after finishing third in the Irish Derby, where he had no luck in running. Ryan Moore came with a late surge to beat Pipedreamer by a short head.

 

NAMIBIAN ORATOR (Cape Cross ex Drama Class) followed this up with a winning debut in the Heart Berkshire And Hampshire Maiden Stakes at Windsor on Monday. 

 

PATKAI (Indian Ridge ex Olympienne) completed the hat-trick when he ran out an impressive 9 length winner of the Woodcote Stud Sagaro Stakes (Gr 3) at Ascot today. He returned to the track where he won last year's Queen's Vase over the same distance. Patkai took up the running 3f from home, under Ryan Moore, and quickened all the way to the line.
